Today we headed back up into the hills of Galicia to one of my favourite villages on the Camino St James, O Cebreiro. Again we were lucky with the weather as the fog had cleared by the time we got to the top. Lots of cycling pilgrims were also making their way up the mountain on the road. It was lovely to share this little hamlet with Helen and Mike.
The specialty here....cheese with honey. Yep, that's just cheese, not a cake, thankfully it is quite light, the honey is very strong.
Heading back down past Alto San Roque.
Samos is another small village on a detour on the Camino, one I didn't get to last year. The main draw card here is the monastery. It's huge! And very well preserved after being renovated.
You can stay here, donativo f course.
Lugo's Prasa Mayor. A lovely spot to catch up at the end of the day.
Lugo's cathedral was modelled on the one in Santiago. Behind the altar are several small chapels all ornately decorated.
The main altar is kept for prayer only as the Eucharist is kept on permanent display.

Great u got to Samos.
