The gardens are mostly succulents from all corners of the planet and the house is now a ripping museum dedicated to the Berber culture..
After some quality internet time (Internet has been very dodgy throughout Morrocco) in a nearby cafe we took on the medina once more. First test was to cross the road, here's Helen being assisted by a friendly motorbike rider.
We visited the Musee of Marrakech, quite small and housed in a former mansion. This one had the usual selection of rooms around a central courtyard with decorated walls and ceilings. But also some narrow corridors leading to the Hammam, bathing area, with different rooms for hot, warm and cold baths. The museum had a selection of dusty displays of Berber culture and contemporary art.
Next was the Medrassa Ben Yousseff, the former 'school' for studying the Quoran. At its heyday over 900 students lived there in the tiny cell like dorms on three floors surrounding a central courtyard. Again tiles and carving (plaster and lots of wood) featured. We had fun exploring the maze of rooms which felt somewhat like a prison.
Back through the medina and souk following our trusty guide, Mike, and Maps.me to the square where we caught the bus home for some quality terrace time at the top of the hotel overlooking the satellite dishes of Marrakech. Tomorrow Casablanca.
