But first we had to get the car out of the garage, and again Mike came to the rescue, exiting this ridiculous parking spot with ease. Or that's how it seemed to me, Mike may think otherwise.
Our 'garage' is exactly opposite the start point for the Camino from Granada. The big building opposite is the convent where you get your credential to begin walking. There's the telltale yellow arrow on the wall.
There were only a few villages on our route today and we chose to stop off in Alcaudete, which is definitely not on the tourist route. It's a very peaceful town, clean and calm and has a ripping castle at the top of the hill. We couldn't get in to the castle as its all locked up for winter, though one lady said we could phone for the keys if we wanted to. I had a laugh thinking about phoning someone to ask for the keys to the castle. It was a nice walk around the outside, though very hot once again.
The surrounding countryside, with the olives.
This village was so laid back we had to hunt around for somewhere for a drink. Unheard of in Spain! We arrived in Córdoba and so far it promises to be a lovely final town for our Spanish trip. On Friday we will drive directly to Madrid to drop off the car and fly to Morocco on Saturday.
